Two humanized mouse models open up a plethora of research applications.
Progress in immunology is inextricably linkedto technologies for modeling the humanimmune system in animals. Mice that fullyrecapitulated human immunity would be usefulin a broad range of research, from investigationof immune function in health and disease totesting the safety and efficacy of new therapies,including vaccines. Two papers in thisissue represent important steps toward thisgoal. Rongvaux et al.1 and Lee et al.2 describeimproved humanized mouse models thatenable new lines of research that have beendifficult to pursue until now.
